They say there is a thin line between wisdom and foolishness.
You can make a decision that feels so right and like the wisest thing to do, but if you’re making that decision based on some level of ignorance, you might be making a foolish decision.
That’s why it is said that wisdom is the right application of the knowledge you understand.
So it is not enough to know something or have a good grasp of it.
You must also know the right way to apply that knowledge.
I think it is these three factors that make a smart woman.
Smart women are people who are often able to navigate their life – personal and professional – with grace and intelligence.
They are on the right side of knowledge, able to make wise decisions, maintain balance and achieve their goals.
And sometimes, it feels like life just decided to favor some women at the expense of others.
Is that correct?
No.
Even though smart women do not have a one-size-fits-all formula, there are certain habits that are common to them.
Habits we would like to think are responsible for keeping them on top of their game.
8 Habits of Highly Smart Women
1. Continuous Learning
You can’t be listed as a smart person if you are not continuously learning.
No matter how much you know now, they will soon become stale with the ever changing ways of the world.
And no one said learning must be formal to count.
Are you aware that while some people are scrolling through their social media aimlessly anf concerning themselves with other people’s businesses, smart women are scrolling through social media and learning a whole lot.
So there are two women spending their day on social media everyday – one is smart and the other is not.
Coincidence?
I think not.
Learning never ends for smart women.
They are ever ready to expand their knowledge and skills.
Whether it’s through formal education, online courses, reading, or attending seminars.
They are not just more knowledgeable than the people around them, they also open themselves up for new opportunities for growth and development.
2. Setting Clear Goals
Smart women don’t do que sera sera.
That phrase is a mantra for people who do not care to take hold of their lives.
Success is hardly a thing of luck.
Success is usually the result of well calculated planning.
Every smart woman knows this, and so she sets clear, achievable goals for herself.
She is well aware of what she wants and will take time to outline a path to get there.
She breaks big visions and goals into smaller and more manageable steps to help make the journey less daunting and more structured.
So she is not just setting short term goals.
She is drafting a plan for her distant future as well.
3. Effective Time Management
Someone gave an explanation on the value of time that I won’t forget anytime soon.
They said “time is the most valuable resource you can give to a person. Every other thing you give, you can retrieve; but you can’t retrieve time.”
Everyone is given the same amount of time everyday, but it always feels like some people have sufficient time in their hands, while others do not.
Why?
Some people know how to manage their time, and others just spend the day wasting their time.
Smart women are part of the former.
They prioritize tasks, avoid procrastination, and know when to delegate just to maximize their time for productivity.
They use tools like planners, calendars, and mobile apps to help them stay organized and on top of their responsibilities.
And time management does not just help to increase productivity, it also helps to reduce stress and create more room for rest.
4. Healthy Lifestyle Choices
You see people who say que sera sera?
Most of the time they are people who have an unhealthy lifestyle.
They live life carelessly with a mindset that whatever will be will be.
Whatever will be will not be.
The only thing that will be is the recompense of the choices they made.
And that’s why smart women do not leave their lives to chance.
They are aware that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is crucial for mental and physical well-being.
So they prioritize their health by eating nutritious foods, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep.
A healthy body supports a healthy mind, enabling a person to perform at their best.
5. Building Strong Relationships
Every time I am opportune to speak to people, I like to stress the importance of having healthy relationships.
Nothing actually beats this.
It doesn’t matter how wealthy and comfortable you are, if you’re not rich in people, you can as well be listed among the poor.
There are a lot of things that money may not be able to do for you, but people will.
Smart women understand the value of building and maintaining strong relationships and do not toy with it at all.
They surround themselves with supportive friends, family, and colleagues who inspire and uplift them.
They also understand the importance of networking and include it in their strategy.
They build professional connections that can lead to new opportunities and of great benefit to them.
6. Confidence and Assertiveness
Confidence is so much associated with smart women that if you see a confident woman, the first assumption is that she is smart.
You know the proverbial house built on the rock?
Winds may blow and storms may rage, but the confidence of a smart woman does not shake.
Composure is always 100%.
Why?
She is deeply rooted.
She knows what she carries and believes in her abilities.
So whether she is standing before kings or before locals, she is under no pressure.
Or she is negotiating a raise, voicing an opinion, or taking on a leadership role, she does so with confidence and poise.
This confidence and self-assuredness usually makes people take them seriously and also helps them to achieve their objectives.
7. Seeking Mentorship and Mentoring Others
Every smart woman knows that she is never above being taught.
Anyone who wants to go far in life must submit themselves to being taught by people who have gone even farther.
Smart women usually seek out mentors who can provide guidance, support, and insight based on their own experiences.
And beyond that, they are quite aware that they must leave their footprint in the hallway of growth, so they pick out people who are not yet where they are and show them the way to get there.
So they are continuously receiving and continuously giving, like a river that keeps flowing.
8. Balancing Work and Personal Life
People who have no work and personal life balance are usually caught in a mess.
Because without balance, both the work and personal life will suffer lack of maximum productivity.
Achieving a balance between work and personal life is essential for overall well-being.
Because people who do not pay attention to this will always find themselves stressed out, weary, and depressed over something that would have been an easy fix if only they pay attention to creating a balance.
Highly smart women understand the importance of this balance and make time for both their professional responsibilities and personal interests.
They set boundaries, take breaks, and ensure they have time for hobbies, family, and self-care.
This balance helps them to recharge and maintain their energy and enthusiasm.
These habits of highly smart women are not out of reach for anyone willing to put in the effort.
There is always an opportunity to be a better version of yourself.
So if you adopt these practices, you can enhance your own life and work towards becoming the best version of yourself.
