Waking Up At 5a.m Literally Saved My Life

You may think this is one of those blog posts that exaggerate and blow things out of proportion, well, I’m telling you you’re wrong.

Learning to start my day at 5 AM was the beginning of my productivity. When it all started out, I had no idea how aligned my life was going to be.

It became so much of a great move and I didn’t know it was going to be one of my self-care moves of all time.

I got so tuned to it that when I lived in the dorm, I watched my mates struggle to get up early while I already started my day and even ticked a few things off my to-do list.

Waking up at 5 AM became a way of life and it wasn’t even dependent on the time I slept. My body had adjusted so much to the routine that it just works well for me. Sometimes, I get back in bed for some rest and other times, I just roll with it till the day is over.

I think waking up early is also attributed largely to the fact that it was a childhood routine in my family. Everyone got up as early as 5 AM. Moving out of the house, I had to decide if I was going to keep up with the tradition or dump it altogether.

Well, I am happy I kept to it and it is greatly rewarding at this time. I will share with you some of the benefits of waking up at 5 AM and ways you can make it easier for you to wake up that early.

I live in a typically congested city and the rush for everything is real. It is more like being in a rat race with yourself to get everything done within a reasonable time frame.

Exercising comes with a lot of benefits and doing it so early is a good way to jumpstart your day on a very productive foot.

3. Quiet time is very easy to observe

The quest to do, live up to standard and also meet targets can make meditation and quiet time a difficult thing to do.

Waking up at 5 AM gives me time to do this especially because of the peace and quiet in the neighbourhood at that time.

Your spirit will be calm and you’ll be able to focus on what you have to do.

4. The day starts off fresh

The best time to birth ideas is in the early hours of the day where everywhere and everyone is still calm including yourself.

Amidst the calmness is where you listen to your innermost thoughts and you burst forth with matching energy to face the day.

5. Self-discipline

There are so many ways to train yourself to discipline, waking up early in the morning is one of them. To imbibe a culture of discipline you will have to start from what you can control.

Waking up at 5 AM is a good place to learn discipline, practice restraint and imbibe self-control. You will be surprised at how this will positively affect other areas of your life.
